Benefits of Attending WMPA's Annual Meeting

August 4, 2015  |  Annual Meeting

The Wood Products Manufacturers Association invites you to their Annual Meeting in the heart of the largest Amish community in the United States.

The Annual Meeting takes place September 29 through October 1st, 2015 in Sugarcreek Ohio. This two and one half day event is designed to provide attendees with networking opportunities and the opportunity to see state-of-the-art woodworking facilities.

Members and non-members are invited to attend this event and business owners or managers are urged to attend as well. Attendees will spend an entire day touring local plants, engage in two educational sessions, and take part in a fun social “mystery event.”  The meeting provides a wealth of knowledge, learning experiences, and networking experiences that appeal to the smallest of the small business and the largest of the big companies.

The education sessions cover topics asked for by members. These sessions cover topics such as making proper FSC claims, recruiting/retaining qualified employees, hiring the younger generation, and effective sales growth strategies for small businesses.

A main part of the event is the roll call. During this time, participants have the opportunity to share their largest problem and/or challenge for the year and share the solution they found. This session is WMPA’s highest-rated part of the entire meeting.

President of Keystone Wood Specialties- Sam Stoltzfus believes this event is a great experience for others in the woodworking industry. "My most valuable aspect of WPMA membership, especially attending meetings, is without a doubt, the ability to meet new people in the wood products and related industries and to learn from them, regardless of whether we do business with each other or not."

Since this event is taking place in a rural location, we ask that you make your reservations prior to the August 26th cutoff date. The event costs $399.
