Attend the WPMA Annual Meeting in Baltimore, October 17-19

As a member of the Wood Products Manufacturers Association, you’re taking the steps to run a better business for yourself and your employees.  That’s why we encourage you to attend the WPMA Annual Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland, October 17-19, for educational sessions addressing the challenges facing the woodworking industry today.  The educational sessions are designed to answer important questions posed by members regarding the future of their businesses and the industry at large.

Address the Important Issues

Our members present very important issues affecting the woodworking industry.  The struggling economy affects many businesses, wood product manufacturers included.  Designated speakers will discuss increasing sales and dealing with changes in FSC programs to give businesses a competitive edge in bidding on LEED jobs. Educational sessions will also address issues regarding family-owned wood product manufacturers and deciding if and when to sell one’s business.

Learn from Other Industry Woodworkers and Make Connections

Each educational session is presented by woodworking professionals who understand and deal with the issues facing the industry.  The sessions are designed to provide practical, easy-to-implement information for all members in attendance. Each session is a great opportunity for members to learn from others while making connections that could potentially lead to new partnerships and increased sales.

 “I recently decided to take better advantage of the resources available by attending a WPMA annual meeting,” said Susan Fiske, President, Forest Products Associates, Greenfield, Mass.  “It’s been worthwhile. I’ve made new contacts, friendships and learned about trends to best allocate my resources.”

The annual event maintains the three pillars of WPMA.  Since 1929, WPMA has functioned to

  • Act as an information resource and clearing house for mutual concerns of the industry;
  • Provide leads for profitable new businesses;
  • Offer money-saving programs to help companies improve their bottom line

Hotel room registration closes September 16, at 5 pm EST.  Those interested can call 866-583-4162 to mention the WPMA room rate of $189.
