We are excited to announce that the next WPMA Annual Meeting will be held September 26-27, 2018 in Nashville, TN.   We have been able to make special arrangements a the hotel Noell which has just gone through 100% renovations.  This property is a two (2) block walk from all that downtown Nashville has to offer- including the world famous Ryman Auditorium, all the Honky Tonks, as well as famous restaurants and night life.

We have been successful in arranging Paul Cherry from Performance Based Results Company to again share some of his secrets to success with us.  For those that remember the famous "hurricane in Baltimore" years ago, Paul provided us with a wealth of information to help our businesses.

With over 20 years of effective sales training, Paul will focus on what is required to develop new customers and how we can increase sales from existing customers.  He will also share the role of technology in both areas.  He will share what actually works and will provide take-aways that can be easily implemented in your business.

Nissan Assembly Plant

For more than 30 years the Nissan Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant has been producing quality, award- winning cars, trucks, crossovers and SUVs.  Nissan is also the only automaker that manufacturers its own electric vehicle batteries at the largest lithium-ion automotive plant in the U.S.

This has allowed Nissan to add the electric vehicle LEAF to its production capabilities at the Smyrna plant.

We will have an opportunity to visit one of the most modern automobile manufacturing facilities available.  Models currently produced in Smyrna include:  Nissan Altima, Nissan Maxima, Nissan LEAF, Nissan Pathfinder, Nissan Rogue, and Infinity QX60.

This is a unique opportunity to view manufacturing processes that may be applied to your facility.

Middle Tennessee Lumber

Middle Tennessee Lumber has approximately 115 employees and produces 20 million board feet of lumber plus15 million square feet of flooring per year. The company has installed a very versatile grading line that is capableof doing in excess of 100,000 board feet in a 10 hour shift. They utilize Dri-Stixx in their air drying yard and haverecently installed a Hasko Endmatcher coupled with a Doucet nesting station in their flooring line. Bill Joyce and hiscrew are excited to have us tour their operation.

This year's meeting will begin on Wednesday September 26th at 1pm and end when everyone returns from downtown Nashville following our "Mystery Night" on Thursday September 27th.  Friday will be a day to travel home or visit the local area.  We urge you to start researching flights into Nashville that arrive prior to 1pm.

Educational / Networking Sessions

We are fortunate to have Paul Cherry of Performance Based Results (PBR) join us to share his proven methods to increase sales. He has spoken to our group in the past and has helped many members because he understands the woodworking industry. Paul has over 20 years of experience and has worked with more than 1200 organizations.  His expertise is in business-to-business sales training for a wide array of industries.

     Instigate Change through the Power of Engagement

The economy is good. You’re making a few dollars. But in the back of your mind, things could change. In fact you’reconfronted with a lot of change right now. Let’s face it. Change is uncomfortable, sometimes painful, and easy to push aside. Yet, you’re not alone. Every customer today is experiencing change. The good news is that change often leads to exciting and new opportunities. Despite the obstacles we’re facing in our markets, we have to be agents of change. And that means creating and driving more value for our customers.

In this session you’ll learn advanced engagement strategies so you can:
• Develop greater insight on how to strengthen your existing relationships and build new ones;
• Understand what your customers are telling you, not telling you to better align their needs with yours.
• Get customers to see you as a value-added resource, and; Create win-win outcomes.

     Value Creation Strategies to Protect Your Hard Earned Margins

In this session we’ll do a deep dive on how to minimize the price conversation, the tactics to engage, and get customers to embrace value. But be careful because you can’t sell value until you first understand what your customer values. Each customer defines value differently and it’s our job to ensure our customers are on the same page as us.  Join us for a highly interactive session to learn more about how to:

• Unleash customer motivations to invest in you versus cheaper alternatives;
• Stretch your customers’ mindset & be more receptive and open to change;
• Gain deeper insight into their decision making process & buying criteria, and;
• Help them see through the fog of uncertainty and give them direction.

84% of his clients report 8:1 ROI from his performance improvement programs because the emphasis is on application and accountability. More than 250,000 individuals have benefited from his concepts to achieve greater success, personally and professionally.

Sponsorships allow us to offer many special features.  To do so, we need your financial partnership in order to make this event memorable.

Please look over the list of opportunities. There are also ways to share a sponsorship.  Proper recognition will be publicized in several newsletters, the Events section of the association website, signage and publicity at the meeting and in the attendee’s packages.
