Help Others - Help Yourself

December 4, 2014

The month of December is when many of our members will be completing their year-end inventories. As happens at many companies, there are a lot of over-runs, discontinued items and overall just plain "stuff" that will be found throughout this process. Many times it's hard to find customers for these types of things, but we want to make you aware of a program that not only will help you get rid of some of these over-run items, but also contribute to those who are less fortunate.

Habitat for Humanity operates a program called "Restores" that are able to offer these unwanted items for sale. The money generated from those sales will help fund their mission to provide housing to those in need. No donation is too big or too small. A lot of times it is hard to sell off obsolete, inactive or excess products, and this program provides that mechanism. As an added benefit, Habitat for Humanity will provide the donating company with Donation Information Sheets (including an inventory list with MSRP values). You can visit www.habitat.org for more information on this program.

At the WPMA our focus has always been to provide our members with information to stay profitable, but it is also our goal to help those less fortunate and with this program we can achieve both of those objectives.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Heather Sandoval, Gifts in Kind Program Developments Officer, Habitat for Humanity International, 270 Peachtree Street, NW, Suite 1300, Atlanta, GA 30303, 1-404-904-9596 or at hdandoval@habitat.org.
