U.S. Flooring Manufacturers See Sales Uptick in Early 2025
Domestic hardwood flooring manufacturers reported increased sales during the first four months of 2025, according to insights shared at the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) Wood Flooring Expo, held April 15–17 at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC. The Wood Products Manufacturers Association (WPMA) maintained a booth at the event and met with various producers and distributors.
More than 2,500 wood flooring professionals attended the Expo, which featured hands-on demonstrations, innovative product showcases, educational sessions, and valuable networking opportunities.
“The 2025 NWFA Wood Flooring Expo in Charlotte was a resounding success, marking 40 years of dedication to the hardwood flooring industry,” said Steve Brattin, NWFA Board Chair and owner of SVB Wood Floors.
Trends discussed at the event included continued strong demand for white oak and red oak, with notable growth in ash, hickory, and walnut sales. Exhibitors also reported high interest in natural finishes and wider plank styles across both solid and engineered hardwood products. In contrast, vinyl and other alternative flooring materials were reported to be losing market share.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of NWFA’s prestigious “Wood Floor of the Year” Award.
